Katie Holmes was born on December 18th., 1978 in Toledo, Ohio. She has four siblings. She was baptized as a Catholic and was a member of Christ the King Church. She also attended parochial schools for her high school education. [2]
Katie was an avid actress all throughout high school. Not seeing much opportunity for acting fame in Toledo, she headed to Los Angeles at the behest of a manager. Katie, remarkably enough on her first addition, earned a part in the highly acclaimed "The Ice Storm" in 1997. A videotape of her audition was sent to the "Dawson's Creek" television production people, and she was hired on that show for the role of "Joey Potter."
Personal Life
Katie is married to Tom Cruise and is the mother of Suri Cruise. Homes was once engaged to actor Chris Klein, but broke off the engagement in 2005. Katie Holmes began dating Tom Cruise, and became interested in joining Cruise at the Church of Scientology. Cruise was also a Roman Catholic who switched to Scientology.[2]
