Biography
Rosie O'Donnell is an American entertainer, mainly known for her role as a talk show host. She was born Roseann "Rosie" O'Donnell on March 21st, 1962 in Bayside Queens, New York to Joseph and Roseann O'Donnell.[2]
At the age of 10, Rosie's mother died, and it prompted her to watch "24 hours" of TV daily, which made her an expert in the genre. She dropped out of school at age 18 to begin a career in broadcasting. She has also acted on TV and in the movies, and has performed extensively as a comedian.[6]
She was once known as the "Queen of Nice" for giving away free merchandise on her popular TV Show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show", but over the years her reputation has taken a hit due to a more acerbic side of her nature that has appeared. She has had public spats with many other celebrities, many of which occurred on air.

Controversy
Rosie O'Donnell is an "out" Lesbian who has tackled the subject on many occasions. She came out during a 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer, after she had retired from "The Rosie O'Donnell Show". In the early part of her career, she was not out, and perception of her was very different. As "The Queen of Nice" she came across as a heterosexual with a love interest in Tom Cruise. She has spoken out for Gay Rights, and in particular for the rights of Gay parents to adopt.[4]
Rosie O'Donnell tends towards being outspoken on political topics, which has also found her in the cross hairs of rivals.
Rosie O'Donnell has been embroiled in a number of controversies during her career, including a public feud with Donald Trump and arguments on-air with several of her former associates on "The View". Rosie had several on-air disputes with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, her former co-host, but reportedly buried the hatched by purchasing Hasselbeck a gift for her newborn baby.[1]
Most Annoying Celebrity
In 2007, Rosie O'Donnell was named "The Most Annoying Celebrity" by Parade Magazine readers. She was not phased by the distinction, saying "I, apparently, am the most annoying celebrity, according to Parade magazine. Frankly, most celebrities are annoying. So, I agree, celebrities are annoying. The fact that I am one is annoying, and I suppose I am the most annoying, but, whatever."[5]
